PROJECT 3

For our final project in Semester 1 we were tasked with creating a 1:10 scale Tectonic Model with the size being 20 cubic metres that incorporates the User's journey, sensory and spatial experience. The materials given are Concrete, Fabric, Timber, Steel and Glass where two of them must be chosen. Looking back, I feel that Project 3 was more fun especially during model-making and the design process. My orthographic drawing skills were improved and I learned how to do an Axonometric drawing

Interpretation and Representation:
Principles, Tectonics, and Sensory
[ Sensory Space ]

To create a 20 cubic metre sensory space built out of the given materials where I intend to build a structure that builds on my previous Project 2 structure but add a transition in my emotions where it went from Depression to Hope where the design in the structure reflects this transition

Design Intention

User Journey

The user would first experience an uncomfortable experience based on my design intention in Project 2 where it would then transition from a depressing place to a brighter place which reflects the emotions of Happiness and Hope. The user, however even in the brighter place would not feel full comfort and would still have to put in effort to scale the structure reflecting my rollercoaster journey in life

Gallery

Based on my design intention I feel that this kind of design best suits with a transition where the bottom part with fabric represents my emotions in project 2 and the top part represents my new emotions
