PROJECT 2
For our second project in Architecture and Environment, after many lectures on various topics like acoustics and lighting, we were tasked on picking a building that has a unique way to exploit natural sunlight and doing a daylighting analysis on said building. Of-course there were many different buildings to choose from but my group decided on the Jewish Museum in Berlin as the way the design was made, the way the rooms in said building was affected by daylight was very interesting. We first did research on the structure and local surroundings of the site and we then modeled the room in Sketchup where we then used VELUX to do tests on luminance, illuminance and daylight factor. We also did critiques on the design of the structure. All in all it was a very intriguing project to do but also very stressful.
